Sugar Shack Donuts in Richmond

Great donuts and lots of different flavors. They did have a few flies on and off the donuts the day I visited. But I specifically chose a different flavor, and I'm sure that's not a reoccurring thing.

They have really good burgers there 👌

The burgers and milkshakes are incredible! I'm so happy they decided to come to this side of the river. It will definitely be a regular lunch spot.

Yummy donuts! Unusual flavors but they all are delicious. The peanuts in the Babe Ruth donut were a little too much for a light fluffy donut, but the coconut on the Samoa donut was just right. No indoor seating, but they do have a few chairs outside in the parking lot area. Definitely worth a stop.

The Sugar Shack Is Great For Donuts, But I'm A Cookie Guy... But The Crab Burger (More Or Less Crabcake) Was Phenomenal For The Price Point... They Just Added Luther Burger To This Location, And Its Close To My Job... Great Team, And Service... Definitely A Great Reason To Buy Local !!! Richmond VA Isnt All Confederate Statues And Civil Unrest... Its An Incredible Foodies Culture... During Pandemic I've Taken A "World Tour" Eating A Different Restaurant Almost Every Meal... Within Budget Of About $20... Seeking The Most Food For Price Point... I Don't Eat Beef, Or Pork, And Mostly Stick To "Exotic" Salads... Say Cava, Chipotle, Etc. Or Seafood...

It did not have all the doughnuts that were advertised on its website. I was tolded that some doughnuts that were burned, were put out because it depends on who was in the back making it.

We tried Luther Burger today for the first time. The burgers were very tasty and the garlic parm flavored fries were amazing. Plus they come with DIPPING SAUCE, need I say more.

Just the smell of this place says it all 😍. To be able to see them make the donuts and eat them while they are warm and fresh. The coffee drinks are great, the staff is awesome. I've never had a bad experience here. I rock my sugar shack shirt loud and proud in NH. I make it a point to visit twice while I'm vacationing in RVA.

Some of the best donuts I’ve had in a while! Very fresh and unique flavors. We tried the French toast yeast donut and a lemon Oreo long john. Both were amazing!! Also- very affordable! Some craft donut shops charge upwards of $5 per donut but not here. Can’t wait to make this a weekend tradition.

I really enjoyed the old fashioned cake donuts. The other donuts were great too. All around enjoyable. ❤🍩

Luther Burger was absolutely DELICIOUS. We ordered a mix of vegan/non vegan options and it was all very tasty. Customer service was also on point - there was an order snafu and they forgot 2 items in our take out bag and we didn't realize they were missing until we had already returned home. We only asked for a refund on the two items but instead, they gave us a refund on the entire order! It was super super nice (even though we did want to pay for our meal!). Thank you for the amazing food and service!

Customer service was excellent...nice service to community. Had a vegan BLT that hit the spot.

It wasn't to busy, they have lot parking so you don't have to look on the street. The donuts were super soft and the coffee is strong. They offer a nice verity of hot teas.

Always delivers on quality of donuts. So many different varieties and flavors to choose from. I recommend to anyone in the area or passing by to try.

Sugar Shack, you did it again, keeping your best donut status! Those honey lavender ones in blue are my newest favourite, but really it's almost impossible to decide. And vegan too!

I've always loved Sugar Shack donuts. Firstly, they're a pretty good size. Secondly, they're light and fluffy. Thirdly, they have tasty and unique flavors. My personal favorites are the Samoa and any of the ones with berry icing.I got a bunch for work but I tried the seasonal blueberry lemon one - so good! You could really taste the fruit flavors. I will say that these donuts are pretty sweet, but you probably knew that coming to a place called Sugar Shack.

For years sugar shack has had delicious doughnuts with fun and creative flavors. Those warrant the higher score.However, I just ordered Luther Burger for the first time and was a little disappointed. The fries were cold. Both my and my wife's burger patties were burned. Give them some time to work out the kinks I suppose.

Fun place with interesting flavors of both coffee and donuts. Has vegan options too. Recommended as a place to grab a quick bite.

Very delicious burger and coffee and lots of vegan options, even donuts!

I got a double Luther burger and the beef patty was significantly different to the one in midlothian. It was thick, dry, and tasted more like a grocery store freezer patty than the smashed crispy kind at midlo. The fries were fine, and the yellow sauce seemed a bit different than I remember it being (it had pickle or onion chunks in it at midlo, if I remember correctly)The doughnuts are still good, I just wouldn’t go for the burgers at that location again.

Amazingly soft donuts. Non greasy, full of flavor. The lemon filled and the lemon poppy are divine. Blueberry cake donuts were superb. The staff is quick, knowledgeable and patient. The coffee is top notch. A treat not to be missed! So glad I was able to visit this original location while in RVA!

This place was fine. The donuts are all basically vanilla icing with toppings. The donut itself is good, as are the toppings, but it lacks creativity.

These donuts are awesome. Definitely recommend the Samoa donut, and the plain glazed and sugar are great as well.

Sugar Shack catered our wedding and the donuts were a hit! Always tasty and the guest loved the grab-and-go option so they could keep dancing. We also provided donut bags so they can take some home with them at the end of the night.

I live in Norfolk and will drive the 3 hrs back and forth just for these donuts. Always delicious, always friendly staff. I refuse to get donuts from any other business. The faves are the Samoa and the maple.

I don’t consider myself a donut connoisseur, but I wasn’t particularly impressed with Sugar Shack. Staff was kind but a bit sluggish when preparing orders/coffee. We purchased 6 donuts - the old fashioned donut was simply amazing. Best sour cream donut I’ve had. The others, not so great. The dough was tasteless and huge. It overpowered the icing/toppings. In my honest opinion, those tasted like a larger donut from Dunkin. I would go back only for the old fashioned donuts.

I am so happy that this Sugar Shack location started providing Luther Burgers. I have previously been to the location in southside, and was so excited to see they have started offering them closer to me. The burger I chose was a (vegan)Luther Burger w/cheese and pickles on a potato bun and waffle fries. and there was no way I was leaving with out a side of a dozen Sugar Shack donuts! (also vegan) I got an assorted bunch of sugar heaven and my family was super happy to see them coming through the door. Oh, and those burgers were so good, my daughter and I didnt even leave the parking lot to eat it. We sat right there in the parking lot andliterally ate every crumb. lol.. yes, it was that good! We will be back soon!

When I went in to order I wasn't greeted or even knew who would take my order. I was looking to see which server would take my order but all three individuals behind the counter where on their phone. I had to say who's helping me? A employee with black hair and tatt sleeves gave me a nod bored look, no eye contact and was talking to another coworker while trying to take my order. Tone was patronizing and pointed to the card reader forcely as if to get my attention That felt demeaning. Grabbed my card quickly and said I'm putting the card in the wrong was in a unfriendly tone. Then, She said, "you're coffee is done already." Unprofessional mannerisms and interaction. Transaction was made. After she realized she wasn't getting a tip. Then made some sound as if she was disgusted. And didn't say any other thing like "come again or have a nice day" just quickly turned away. Coffee was good tho!!

Plenty of vegan options. *NOTE* the donut prices are set up by shelf and labeled by “Classic” “Special” and “House” so you can match the price on the board with the donut label. I went tug Chocolate glaze chocolate chip and salted caramel glaze. They’re a cross between yeast and cake donuts so they’re a denser than yeast and lighter than cake. Lots of non-vegan options also. Well priced (two of my donuts pictured were $3.45).

Wow, this place has so many donuts to choose from! Such creativity! They really have something for everyone. Great how they mix flavors that blend together. Cute store and very friendly and helpful staff. Bring the whole family! Great place to take a date!
